At the top of a narrow spiral staircase we enjoyed conversation, ideas, laughter, and the frustrations of daily political life.<\/p>\n<p>In that time I discovered Ming as a thoughtful, clever, judicious, wise and principled person. He is a Liberal to the core, a person of principle and values but never sanctimonious. He has the ability to lead the nation, not just the Party.
