SNP Must Come Clean On Defence Implications Of Independence

Commenting as the former head of the British Army calls for a full discussion about the potential future of Scotland`s armed forces before a referendum on independence, Member of the Intelligence and Security Committee and former leader of the Liberal Democrats, Sir Menzies Campbell MP said:

“The chickens are coming home to roost for the SNP.

“Sooner or later they will have to come clean on how many aircraft, ships and regiments there would be in an ‘independent’ Scotland; why they want to leave NATO, the most successful defence alliance in history and the saviour of the people of Libya; how much they would spend on defence and the economic impact on the defence industry and the number of jobs that would be lost in Scotland.”
