Eastbourne proves three-party politics is a permanent feature

Ming Campbell will councillors, supporters and PPC Stephen Lloyd in Eastbourne
Visiting Eastbourne, where the Liberal Democrats have taken control of the council from the Conservatives, Liberal Democrat Leader Menzies Campbell met with new Liberal Democrat councillors and supporters.

He said:
“Our success in Eastbourne shows that the Liberal Democrats are a party that remains able to fight and win against the Conservatives here in the South of England.

“And we have taken control of Hull and Rochdale. We have shown that the Liberal Democrats can win across Britain.

“It’s a demonstration of faith in our party and belief in our values.

“This is a national party of local government.

“We have demonstrated beyond doubt that three-party politics is now a permanent feature of British politics.”
