CAMPBELL PRAISES “VERY GOOD” BELL BAXTER REPORT

North East Fife’s MP Sir Menzies Campbell and MSP Iain Smith have praised Bell Baxter High School’s “very good” report from HMIe.

The report highlights the particular strengths of the school, which include: young people’s wider achievements; strong partnerships within and beyond the school to enrich young people’s learning and achievement and meet their needs; the school’s positive climate and the ways young people interact with one another and with staff; the headteacher’s commitment to maintain and improve the quality of learning across the school.

The school also received “Very Good” outcomes for the quality indicators – Improvements in performance, learners’ experiences and meeting learning needs.

Sir Menzies Campbell said:

Ming Campbell“This is an outstanding report of which everyone in the school can be proud. The Inspector rightly deemed the two elements of curriculum and improvement through self-evaluation as “Very Good”, which demonstrates the quality of education being provided. Everyone at the school deserves praise for this report and I am sure that this progress will be maintained.”

Iain Smith MSP said:

Iain Smith MSP“As a former pupil of Bell Baxter I am proud of the progress and the standard of education that is provided by the school and this report highlights its particular strengths. I am most impressed by the school’s leadership and Phillip Black and his team deserve a pat on the back for their hard work and the fruits of their labour.

“The way in which the pupils behave and interact also warrants commendation. They are a credit to the school and the community as a whole.”
