Sir Menzies Campbell MP has described the news from Scottish Secretary Jim Murphy of the proposed new powers for the Scottish Parliament as “the right way forwardâ€.
Sir Menzies said:
“In spite of SNP carping, there is no doubt that the Secretary of State for Scotland’s statement is sensible and should be welcomed.
“Donald Dewar wisely observed that devolution was not an event but a process and the Scottish people have made it consistently clear that they don’t want independence but they do want enhanced powers and hence greater responsibility for the Scottish Parliament. This is the right way forward.”
